And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ… - Ephesians 4:11–12
Christ has given leaders to His church to equip and build up His body. While many of you serve and lead in a variety of capacities (Thank you!), this responsibility ultimately falls on the elders and deacons who make up our church board. In the hope of communicating with you, we would like to pass on brief highlights from some of our monthly meetings. Feel free to approach any one of us with questions or concerns but especially keep us in your prayers. Here is a brief recap of our meeting this past week.
COB Board Highlights - September 24, 2024
Sanctuary Expansion Celebration - On Thanksgiving Sunday, Oct. 13th, we are planning to celebrate God’s faithfulness and provision through our recent sanctuary expansion project. All of you are welcome for a potluck lunch after the service where you will be updated on the details of expansion and praising God for His goodness. There will be no potluck on September 29th.
Grief Share Ministry - Dave and Donna Sandin will be co-leading this 13-week ministry for those who are struggling with grief. It will be weekly at the church, beginning on Oct. 20th, from 6:30-8:00pm. There will be a $20 registration cost to cover the booklet. You can register HERE. Deadline to register is Oct. 13th. AGC Refresh Pastor’s Conference - We continue to plan to host 20-30 pastors and their wives from BC through Manitoba. We will be providing meals as well as hoping to bless some couples with billeting. Pray that this would be an encouraging time for co-labourers in our extended church family.
Christmas Gift Outreach - Brittany Koleba and Jocelyn Doyle are organizing a Christmas outreach for families, where kids can come and “shop” for gifts for their parents. The “gifts” are free and come from Amazon overstock and returns. Stay tuned for more information and ways you can help out.
